The kit includes the Edenya Hi-Tech Graphene filter is an innovative water filtration system with an active carbon base and CANAM, a nanostructured and thin graphene material capable of retaining any pollutants in the water.
Edenya Hi-Tech Graphene filters guarantee a filtration degree of 0.5 microns, thanks to the combined action of:
mechanical filtration action carried out by a membrane of polyethylene fibers, with a large surface area with a degree of filtration of 0.5 microns, with a special drain. This guarantees the retention of impurities and suspended substances;
adsorption action carried out by the activated carbon powder, obtained from the coconut, which eliminates the excess of chlorine present in the water and any metals and toxic compounds;
chemical/physical action carried out by CANAM, a nanostructured graphene material capable of operating on a wide range of contaminants and exerting bacteriostatic action.

Graphene lends itself to countless applications, including water treatment.
Researchers from the Institute for Organic Synthesis and Photoreactivity (CNR-ISOF) and the Institute for Microelectronics and Microsystems (CNR-IMM) of the National Research Council, have developed a new technology that can use graphene to enhance polymer membrane filters. In this way it was possible to eliminate harmful substances present in the water network such as organic contaminants, molecules constituting active ingredients of drugs, cosmetics
In practice, the researchers superimposed graphene oxide (GO) sheets with polysulfone and derivatives (PSU) membranes. From tests performed on samples of water contaminated by substances such as rodamine, dye used a lot in the textile and pharmaceutical field, the antibiotic ofloxacin and the anti-inflammatory diclofenac, active ingredients present in many eye drops, tablets and ointments have seen that the degree of filtration exceeds by more than three times that of the standard material containing only polysulfone.
This extraordinary result was possible thanks to the unique characteristics of two-dimensional materials, especially graphene oxide. In practice, these sheets layered at nanometer distances can trap contaminating molecules much more efficiently than three-dimensional filters.

Acts as a triple action filter system:
Mechanical filtration action carried out by a membrane of polyethylene fibers, with a large surface area with a degree of filtration of 0.5 microns, with a special drain. This guarantees the retention of impurities and suspended substances;
chemical action of adsorption is carried out by the powdered activated carbon, obtained from the coconut, which eliminates the excess of chlorine present in the water and any metals and toxic compounds;
Ag principle, that is the silver salts of which the coal is impregnated, plays an important bacteriostatic action preventing bacteria from proliferating inside the filter.
